Cosmetic acupuncture aims to slow down skin aging and restore the face's natural radiance safely and naturally. It tones muscles, tightens the epidermis, reduces wrinkles, and improves circulation and cell regeneration. Treatments also stimulate collagen production, relieve facial muscle tension, and regulate excessively dry or oily skin. The goal of these treatments is preventative for those with subtle wrinkles and curative for those with more pronounced wrinkles. The treatment begins with a facial massage using a small Chinese roller to relax the skin. Next, fine needles are inserted into the face with gentle electrical stimulation. Acupuncture points on the body are also addressed to establish overall balance, as stress, lack of sleep, or hormonal or digestive imbalances can also affect facial appearance. A foot and scalp massage completes the treatment. The number and frequency of treatments vary depending on age and skin condition. After age 40, a minimum of 4 to 6 consecutive treatments is recommended, followed by regular maintenance sessions at the change of seasons. An individualized treatment plan will be developed during your initial consultation.
