Fertility
Acupuncture improves the chances of conception naturally
Service Description
Unexplained infertility, a medical diagnosis that often leaves couples feeling helpless, is frequently attributed in Traditional Chinese Medicine to an energy imbalance in one or both partners. Acupuncture is a powerful tool in these cases and can be used alone or in combination with insemination or in vitro fertilization. In women, the following aspects will be considered to ensure optimal conditions for conception: • Regulation of the four phases of the menstrual cycle (menstruation, follicular phase, ovulation, luteal phase) • Increased blood flow to the reproductive organs (fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus) to optimize their function and promote endometrial receptivity • Optimization of the number of follicles • Improvement of the quality of released eggs • Regulation of hormone secretion • Reduction of the effects of stress • Improvement of sleep, digestion, and elimination • Improvement of mood and well-being • Prevention of certain types of miscarriage Acupuncture is also a valuable tool in the treatment of several underlying conditions that can decrease fertility, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, amenorrhea, and uterine fibroids. In men, acupuncture aims to optimize sperm quality, quantity, and motility. Since complete sperm maturation can take up to three months, acupuncture treatment for the same duration is recommended. It may be beneficial to have a semen analysis performed before and after the treatment period to observe any changes. Concurrent acupuncture treatments also increase the chances of success with in vitro fertilization (IVF) while reducing the side effects of hormonal treatments and alleviating anxiety related to the process.
